Kerusso Baptist Church

is a church plant in Baton Rouge committed to boldly proclaiming "Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Cor. 2:2) throughout Louisiana and beyond.  We exist for the glory of God and "for the sake of the elect" (2 Tim. 2:10).  We are praying for Almighty God to save His people and gather them together in one accord for their mutual edification.

Families are gathering together Sunday nights 4-7pm in the White Family home for a Bible study through the parables of our Lord Jesus followed by dinner together.  Contact us by phone or email if you're interested in attending the Bible study.  If you're looking for a church home that's committed to sound doctrine, verse-by-verse Bible study, prayer, evangelism, and walking out the "one-anothers" in sweet fellowship, we'd love to meet you and hear your story!

Establishing a new church is God's work first and foremost. We sow in faith that God will bring a harvest.  If you'd like to hear more about our church planting journey which began January 2021, we'd love to have you over for a cup of coffee and share about God's kind and plentiful mercies.  In the meantime, you may learn more about our doctrine here.

And they continued
steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine
and fellowship,
in the breaking of bread,

and in prayers.

"Kerusso" (κηρύσσω)

pronounced \ kay-rü's-so \

in Biblical Greek means

"to be a herald" and

"to preach or proclaim openly".

Now the man from whom

the demons had departed

begged Him that he might be with Him.

But Jesus sent him away, saying,

“Return to your own house,

and tell what great things God has done for you.”

And he went his way and proclaimed

throughout the whole city

what great things Jesus had done for him.

Luke 8:38-39 (NKJV)

“We have never sought to hinder the uprising of other churches from our midst or in our neighborhood. It is with cheerfulness that we dismiss our twelves, our twenties, our fifties, to form other churches.  We encourage our members to leave us to found other churches; nay, we seek to persuade them to do it.  We ask them to scatter throughout the land to become the goodly seed which God shall bless.
I believe that so long as we do this we shall prosper.”

Charles Spurgeon
(April 1865)
